Sexual Assault

What Happens Behind Close Doors

About Us

Our task force is passionate about Rape on university campus’ in North America and strongly believe it’s a critical issue within society. As a team and the help of many research resources like our peers and university professionals, we have presented the solution to implement workshop session in high school for grade twelve females and males that educate them about the university experience. Our task force has concluded from our research that frosh week information sessions are not serving its purpose effectively and think high school sessions could be more efficient. This includes several topics that will be addressed, for example of course how to stay physically and mentally healthy, where to go for academic assistance and of course the dangers of sexual assault. In a series of 5 sessions that will take place in the month of May right before students have made their final university choices we hope to fully educate all males and females students. Compensating the time of grade 12s lunches for a week will mean nothing compared to the results of what they are learning in these sessions. These sessions will run from Monday to Friday for 2 weeks so every student can make it sure they make it to every session, for example if they miss a two sessions the first week they can still go to them in the second week. We realize that students don’t want to attend sessions about negative and scary things that can happen in university so that is why we chose to intertwine other wellness preparation into this session that students should be aware of before their first year at university. Change is sparked from passion and hard work and that is what our task force is made of ready to be impactful, starting with our own school community.

I'I" was abducted when I was nineteen by an acquaintance who stalked me. I tried to report it to the campus police, but they just humiliated me. Also, It was an ordeal that I don’t really remember because he drugged me. But many years later, I moved to a new town, and then he appeared a few months later. He was in that town. He was a respected member of the leaders of that town. "

"I have been raped multiple times. For the longest time I just acted like it wasn’t a big deal. I didn’t think about it and tried to forget about it all together. However, in reality, I was terrified. The time that scared me the most was when I was at a frat party with my friends. One of the guys took me into the bathroom where five other guys were. At this point they had already given me plenty of drinks and my memory is very foggy. I only remember bits and pieces."
